Allan and Laura had a clear vision of the place they want their baby girl to grow up – surrounded by nature, a sense of space, feeling like she’s part of a community.
Having found Pebble Creek in the burgeoning Logan suburb of South Maclean, their vision is about to become a reality.
“This is everything we were hoping for,” Allan says of the master-planned community where he and Laura have purchased a 420sq m block on which to build the family home they’ll share with 17-year-old son Harrison and nine-month-old Alison.
“We were living in an older house at nearby Regents Park and just got sick of it. It was an older community and you barely ever saw children. There were no kids riding their bikes or playing outside and that is not the life for us.
“We want to live in a community where families are outside all the time and parents are happy for their children to meet friends at the local park. Being outdoors means everything to us and Pebble Creek is the perfect place to do that.”
Nestled within the growing inland corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Pebble Creek is bordered to the north by Flagstone Creek and features five distinct lot types that cater for first-home buyers, established families and investors across all budgets.
Having sold their Regents Park property, Allan and Laura have made history as the community’s first unconditional sale and are busy planning the house that will eventually rise on Lot 111.
“We know the name of the street we’ll be living in but not the house number,” laughs Allan, who works as a courier driver.
“We’re told the land will be pegged out in September and we hope to start building in October or November. We’ve got our house plans ready to go and are busy working out all the details such as colours, bricks and electrical.
“This is the first time we’ve bought a block of land to build on and it’s been quite a cool journey. When I googled words like ‘vacant lots’ and ‘communities’, Pebble Creek stood out straight away and once we visited Pebble Creek, we realised we were on a winner.
“It’s exciting to think that this time next year we’ll be living there.”
The family will also be living a mere block from the jewel in Pebble Creek’s crown – a multimillion-dollar park and activity hub in the heart of the community that will feature sport ovals, playgrounds, multi-use courts, a bicycle precinct, picnic areas, a dog off-leash park and more.
“We’ll literally be able to step outside, cross the road and be there,” Allan says.
“That connection to nature and open space is something so many children miss out on nowadays but not our little girl. It’s going to be her second backyard and that’s something money can’t buy.
“We also have a border collie who loves to run around so I can only imagine how much she’s going to love having an off-leash park so close to home.”
Allan says it is also a bonus Pebble Creek borders an already established precinct offering the amenities one expects of an urban centre.
“Between Flagstone Shopping Village, several schools and a childcare centre, we won’t need to travel far to find the services we’re looking for,” he says. “We’ve got a lot of boxes to tick before next year but moving-in day can’t come quickly enough.”
